Long synopsis:
Angelina endured a brutal upbringing amongst the squalid slums of Bogota, Colombia. She had first-hand knowledge of life in the murder capital of the world, watching both her father and brother being gunned down in front of her. Escaping her life being brought up in a favela in Bogota would have been unthinkable if it hadn’t been for her shrewd mind and stunning beauty when, at aged 21, the stunning Angelina was plucked from obscurity to win Columbia’s International ‘Queen of Coffee’ beauty pageant . Becoming the coveted face of the Colombian ‘Queen of Coffee’ campaign, her face is emblazoned across billboards throughout Bogotá – and just like that she’s the new rock and roll.
Flashing up on the radar of the outwardly charming Franco, known to others by his alter ego ‘El Carnicero’ (The Butcher), head of the most feared Mexican Delta drug cartel, the naïve Angelina is fast tracked to become the trophy wife of the man every Mexican fears. She soon finds herself at the epicentre of a world of murder, narcotics and brutality.
Entering a brutal world, where human life is worth nothing but powder and power are everything, of violence. After a torturous 12 months living in habitual fear, Angelina reaches the end of the rope. It’s fight or flight time. Boldly Angelina decides to take a stand and escape the clutches of her unhinged husband. Not only does Angelina manage to escape him, she refuses to retreat into the shadows of anonymity and employs her new found knowledge of the cocaine smuggling industry to set up a rival cartel and go to war with her husband.
There’s one striking difference; Angelina decides all her drug mules will be stunning female models. The operation is run with such unerring female attention to detail, that within eighteen months the cartel is one of the largest and most feared cartels in South America. But fate wasn’t finished with her yet. A split second lapse of attention exposes her to the authorities and the narco queen’s world starts to unravel when one of her Gucci drenched employees is caught trying to smuggle a massive haul of cocaine into Argentina.
From the lap of luxury, complete with 24hr high security, Angelina and her son are forced to go on the run with million dollar bounties on their heads with both her husband and the authorities on their tail. Enduring constant attempts on their lives Angelina is, yet again, forced to flee and decides to go under the cosmetic surgeon’s knife in a last ditch attempt to change her appearance and survive.
